The State House
The State House is a multi-purpose event venue dedicated to promoting and expanding culture and creativity in New Haven's 9th Square.
It all started when…
Hosting hundreds of cultural and creative events, offerings ranged from local and global musical acts to entrepreneur Pitch Nights, founder interviews through Startup Grind, and networking events.
In 2019, The State House hosted four of the New Haven Independent’s Top 10 Live Musical Performances of the Year and added recording equipment (with grant support) for shows and presentations.
Since the start of the COVID pandemic, The State House has been streaming recordings of previous performances, advocating for federal Save Our Stage funding, and opening their space for socially distanced rehearsals for local bands recording content during COVID.
Grant Support
In ECIC’s first year, CTNext grant funding supported the structural renovation of the roof and building systems at a long-vacant State Street building, allowing The State House to open in the summer of 2018.
